gosh..it has been 10 days since i came..everything seemed to be happening so quickly and i have actually procrastinated for so longgg!! i am such a bum. i am doing well over here..the hostel is terrific and i have got a fantastic roommate! thank goodness! things could have been much worse..hehe. tada! there she is! jenny from the states - wisconsin, doing biochemistry and going 22 this year. haha. any takers? hehe. (taken after my hostel's formal dinner on fri)  this is my hostel and my room! jealous eh! one of the best rooms in my hostel (International House, IH)..it has an attached bathroom! but of course, the hostel fees are the best as well. hahah. it is a standard deluxe double..only realised that i am having it when i was calculating the payment for the hostel fees. oops..hahah. that is the exterior of IH from its main gate. (quite disappointed when i first saw it..had much higher expectations for it since it was one of their conserved buildings)  some of IH's interior. (from left: receptionist office with mini library and computer room, dining hall, corridor to MY ROOM!)  p.s. the food here is good! so much better than expected! i eat like 3 times more than i did in sg..my plate is always heaped with food! (feel like an ah tiong..darn..always see them doing these back in nus :X) and guess what, my food serving is at least twice of my american friends' everyday..food spreads out evenly on their plates and they do not finish everything..i took a mountain of it and i finish everything?!?! incredulous! (this p.s. is so bloody long..haha) entering our room - view from jenny's side (from left: her table, divider from her view, divider from my view)  MY ROOM!! super neat alright! very spacious as well..at least my sg room plus the common bathroom i think..jenny is nice to keep this side for me..wheee!!it is so much brighter than her side! the funny thing is that she likes her room to be dark..so this is the best of both worlds! hoho..besides, the bathroom is on my side..really convenient! (i did not forget all of you! i had all of your pics developed and pasted in my room! i was extorted by the film shop..60 cents per photo!! ouch!)  alrighty..highlight of events for the days since i arrived in auckland! hightlight 1: beach outing to Long Beach Regional Park on last saturday (4th day in auck) the main shore itself was normal but the coastal walk that leads to Granny's Bay was fabulous!awww..i lurve it there! i have so many photos and i did not know what to show!? bird's eye view of the main coast  this is cheryl..malaysian, going 21.  coast of granny's bay  the walk to the shore  lurve the skies.  and the fat pigeon!  happily stranded!  ah..and yes..there was supposed to be 3 of us. hannah is the girl from my faculty who went for SEP with me (middle).  highlight 2: Rangitoto - a port that orginated from a young dormant volcano. this trip was organised as part of IH's O-week trips..it was fun checking out the caves! we actually squeezed through two of the lava caves! but there was this super huge one..it was about 2.5 times that of my height and we had to climb out of the cave at the end of it! exciting! the walk was made even more enjoyable with sarah, the geology major. she was explaining and describing about the rocks and formations! nice!   highlight 3: Waitakere Ranges (read as y-ta-ki-ri-ranges)..yawn..next time man..3am?!! dying..just went through this today..zzz time! goodnight!
